About
Replacing legacy software with agentic AI.
We build reliable agentic systems that fuse human judgment with AI execution, replacing fragmented legacy tools with unified, production-grade software you own.
A small team, by design.
Himalayan Labs was founded by Varun Singh. The database software he built, ScaleArc, ran in production at NASDAQ, Dell, and Microsoft, where downtime is measured in dollars per second. That is the bar every system here is built to.
The company exists to press a second advantage: AI has changed what a small team can build. A pair of engineers can now ship production software that used to need a department. Our own products are the proof, and it is the same efficiency we build into client work and teach in Train.
ReduceWaste.AI is fully open source, because the future of AI belongs to communities, not gatekeepers.

The paradigm shift
Why humans remain essential.
AI cannot fulfil human requirements alone.
Every organization holds unspoken knowledge and undocumented context. Folding it into a working system is human work, and stays human work as the models get smarter.
Domain expertise compounds.
Computational geometry for nesting, OWASP frameworks for security.
Exact predicates. Genetic optimization. Industry-standard scoring.
The challenge
Hard problems, real impact.
Manufacturing waste
15 to 30 percent of raw materials are wasted. At 50 dollars per kg for titanium, the math is brutal.
API security
73 percent of data breaches exploit API vulnerabilities.
Autonomy is not unsupervised. Every production change passes through configurable approval gates. Humans set strategy, AI handles execution.
